Fuel Filters

We supply two main types of filters, heating oil filters and fuel filters.

The heating oil  filters we do are inline filters, these are generally a complete unit that goes inline on your feed pipes. The fuel filters we do are usually a two piece filter with a filter head and then a removable cannister or filter bowl. These come in different materials, connection sizes and different filter element materials and gauges of filter element (measured in microns)

We supply replacement filter elements and cannisters for all the filter bowls and filter heads that we stock.

Fuel Dispensing Nozzles

There are two main types of fuel dispensing nozzle, manual shut off nozzles and automatic shut off nozzles. A manual shut off nozzle will need you to let go of the trigger when you have completed reuelling, whereas an automatic shut off nozzle will detect fuel reaching the nozzle spout and will automatically shut off dispensing fuel. The main point to remember here is that if your fuel set up is gravity feed then you can use a manual nozzle. If your fuel setup is pumped then you by law require an automatic shut off nozzle. This is so that you minimise the risk of fuel spills.

Fuel Hose Fittings

There are many types of fittings for fuel hoses that we stock, from quick couplings, hose tails, swivels, non return valves, ball valves, gate vales and breakaway couplings.

They are suitable for many different purposes but all will attach to any hoses we sell.

Cam & Groove quick couplings

These are designed to be attached to either end of the hose and the mating part to the pump or fuel tank. They make it easier and quicker to attach or detach the hose from fuel transfer devices or storage tanks. Available in both 1 inch and 2 inch.  Made from high quality pressure cast aluminium. There are also dust caps and dust plugs available for each size of coupling to prevent ingresss of foreign objects while the hose is disconnected.

Hose Tails & Swivel Hose Tails

We stock a wide selection of hose tails and swivel hose tails for most sizes of hose and fitting. These include tapered hose tails for easier connection to tight threads.

Swivel joints

These are often fitted between the end of the hose and the nozzle so that it can be twisted around to the correct orientation; however, this can also be fitted in other locations, such as on the end of the hose next to the pump, etc, in special circumstances.

Unless specifically stated, these may be made of Aluminium, Mild Steel or Brass according to what material is available at the time of manufacture (all these materials are suitable for use with diesel).  If you are using Adblue, Water or some other Chemical then you are likely to need Stainless Steel.

Non Return Valves and Strainers

Non-Return Valves are fitted in the end of the fuel line to prevent fuel running back out of the hose line. These are essential for use where the pump requires an initial prime to get it working and you wish to maintain the prime thereafter.

There is a separate strainer basket available for the 3/4″ and 1″ F-F NRVs.  These Strainer Baskets are Male threaded to fit into the inlet of the Female threaded NRVs.

All threads are BSP and the flow direction is either Female In and Female Out or Male In and Female Out,

Sizes available from 3/8″ to 2″ with Female to Female ports and 1/2″ to 2″ with Male to Female ports.

Fuel Dispensing Hose

We supply a good quality cloth reinforced nitrile hose for standard fuel delivery purposes. We can supply this fuel dispensing hose at your required lengths from 1.6mtrs up to 50mtrs in one length. We supply either 1″ or 3/4″ ID hose. You can order this with or without hose tails already crimped on.

The other option of fuel hose is our Steel reinforced NBR/PU/PVC hose. This is ideal hose for the busy forecourt yard where there is a possibility of the hose getting run over by vehicles. The reinforced steel coil running through the hose keeps the solid shape and prevents it from going misshaped.

Bear in mind we also supply fuel hose fittings, hose tails, quick couplings and swivel tails should you need to add these to your hose.

In line with the hose manufacturers and the increasing levels of BIO diesels being used in road and agricultural fuels, all hose assemblies and pump assembly hoses will from today only have a 3 month warranty.

Fuel Hoses are a serviceable part of any system and as such should be inspected and replaced on a regular bases. In the past fuels have not been as aggressive as those now used so there was not an issue, but these days we are not at all certain what is in the fuel being supplied.

There is fuel dispensing hose available that is more robust against these fuels but they come at considerable extra cost. If these hoses are required please let us know.

We have come to this decision on the bases that many installations have little or no problem, it is the high volume usage systems that tend to have more adverse effect on the fuel dispensing hose, and therefore I do not see the need to add unnecessary cost to all products across the board by using very expensive hose.
